CBD SEO Agency is a small, focused consultancy that ranks brands in the verticals where Google Ads doesn't run, Meta paid age-gates, and SEO has to carry most of the pipeline: CBD, hemp, cannabis dispensaries, vape, snus and headshop. Marcus K. Reed founded the agency in 2020 after watching CBD operators waste $40k–$100k on agencies that didn't know cannabis policy from cannabidiol.
We stay small on purpose. Three full retainers per quarter, no churn-and-burn, no junior account managers behind a partner-pitch. Marcus and a small senior team handle the work directly. If we don't think we're the right fit — the regulatory regime is wrong, the brand baseline isn't ready, the timeline is unrealistic — we say so on the discovery call.
What we believe
- Regulated-products SEO is its own discipline. CBD, cannabis, vape and snus aren't a vertical of e-commerce SEO with a different vocabulary. The compliance copy, schema discipline, named-expert E-E-A-T, FDA disclaimer placement, and AI-engine trust filters all behave differently. We focus only on this.
- SEO and AEO are one practice now. Splitting SEO and AEO sells more retainers but produces worse work. We optimise for the union — pages that rank in Google and get cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews — because the structural rules overlap roughly 80%.
- Named experts, verifiable bios. Schema.org Person with real LinkedIn is the single biggest E-E-A-T move in YMYL-adjacent verticals like CBD. We don't ghost-author. We won't put fake bios on your site to hit a checkbox.
- Citation outcomes are probabilistic. We publish expected ranges, not guarantees. ChatGPT can cite you Tuesday and not Wednesday for the same prompt. Agencies promising 'guaranteed citations' are either lying or about to be.
- Compliance is part of the deliverable. We map your Google Ads policy exposure, Meta CBD policy fit, FDA disclaimer status and state-restriction copy on day one. Non-compliant pages don't rank long, even when they rank initially.
- We say no to bad-fit clients. If you sell unverified delta-8 to minors, run review-incentivised flows, or want gray-hat link-building, we won't work with you. The regulated-products SEO marathon is long; we don't want clients who'll get banned in month 4.
